While it wasn't 100% as good as I thought it was going to be because of all the hype surrounding it months before its release, I can still say that I enjoyed it.I have to say that the acting was really good. The first 20 minutes focused on a group of friends throwing a going away party for one who was being transfered to a new job in Japan. The drama at the party actually made me forget what the movie was supposed to be about. That's good acting and a good storyline. When the monster arrived I actually found myself saying out loud mind you "oh yeah, this movie's about a monster."The ending was on the corny side because you saw the monster's face. It wasn't as ugly or as terrifying as I wish it had been. I thought the director should have left its identity a mystery to add to the terrifying uncertainty of the situation itself. Overall entertaining, but not worth the massive hype that surrounded it.
Go on youtube or any site like that and see what kids and teenagers are putting up . Pretty much the same as you guys did , the only difference is that you twats thought it was good enough to be a movie..... I watched it on dvd and that was bad enough, i didnt see it in the movies.. I asked for my money back at the video shop and the girl said she couldnt but it wasnt the first time she had been asked that question after other people rented it.... Folks - if you have never seen it dont watch it. Go walk your dog, cut your grass or help an old lady cross the road. You will feel better for not watching this second hand toilet paper of a ' movie '...
The movie was really good! The only thing I didn't like was the ending! I don't want to give the ending away, so when you see the movie, I think you'll know what I'm talking about!
I think I would have liked the movie, if I had been able to watch it. I have some kind of vertigo problem that I got sea sick. If you don't like that shaky camera thing, or can't tolerate it at least, don't even try this one.
After surviving 9/11 there were scenes of devastation that were so realistic it brought many memories back. If you can allow your imagination (the monster and the camcorder) then the whole film becomes frighteningly realistic. PS-If you don't pay EXTREMELY close attention to the first minute of the film, then the camcorder and half the movie won't make sense.(The first and last minutes really bookend the film)
