The first movie, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, was cute. A show about an outcast who meets another outcast and becomes the town hero. This movie is a protagonist vs. antagonist--end of story.
The quips and failing charges of humor aren't there as they hit the audience in bombarding jests as if entering a snowball fight. Instead of letting the tide calm before the new next storm, the viewers are hit with so-so jokes one after another, deflating the tiny bit of humor that would have been served.
The kids liked it because the food is alive and there is a rescue of "wildlife." This allows their imagination to grow, which a parent appreciates.
As a parent taking kids to see a movie is exceedingly difficult, without previewing it first, because of crass humor and anticipating unforeseen violence. This is one concern I do not have with this movie, which is a huge relief.

I took my eleven and sixteen year old sons to see this movie. It was no surprise to see my eleven year old laughing but my oldest got a kick out of the mild semi-adult humor. This was a cute, hugely creative sequel to the first "Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs". I was a bit surprised that nearly every showing over the weekend was sold out in three different local theaters.

I haven't seen the first Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs in a while, but from what I remember of the 1st, the 2nd is even better! I laughed most of the way through the movie. It was really sweet and cute. I'd recommend it.

My family and I loved the movie. I liked how the characters worked together as a team and brought in some new friends. It also taught a couple of life lessons about true friendship. It is a great family movie to take the kids to see.

I really enjoyed the movie as a 38 yr old woman. My son, who turned 7 the day we went to see it enjoyed it too. I really liked the fact that the food looked so much like animals and you didn't have to 'guess' what animal that food was supposed to be. I like the first one better, but that usually seems to be the case.
