Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2

Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 1 was a novel movie about an inventor who creates a machine that can make food out of water in the atmosphere. It was fun to watch, even though it was a little hard to imagine. The kids loved it (6 & 10 years old). Usually the sequel movie doesn't fare as well, as the novel idea is just beat to death. Kind of like a "Saturday Night Live" sketch that is extended into a movie. Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2 tries to get around that with the machine not being disabled during the first movie, but instead modifying into a "Jurassic Park" take off. The food becomes live creatures. It was fun to watch, but the concept was a little hard to handle. It was kind of God like. The kids loved it.

Good movie all around. Very funny play on words with food and animals throughout the film. Kids were laughing the whole time. Interesting how Sony portrayed Live Corp...shades of Apple a bit.

Okay, so my daughter (7) wanted to see this movie yesterday and I was not quite as enthused as her. Well, long story short, I liked it much better than the first one. It was highly creative with wonderful food-animals and a nice story-line that emphasized friendship over success. I didn't think it was particularly funny but it was cute!

Took my grandsons ages 8,9, 10 they gave it an 8 on a scale of 1 - 10. Is was not as funny as we hoped. The younger children seemed to enjoy it more.

A good movie... not as good as the first, but pretty creative. We definitely laughed out loud a couple times, and my 8 year old loved it! I would recommend a matinee or wait for it on Red box.
