A good movie... not as good as the first, but pretty creative. We definitely laughed out loud a couple times, and my 8 year old loved it! I would recommend a matinee or wait for it on Red box.

This is a really cute movie. Even if you did not see Meatballs 1,it fills you in on what previously happened to Flint and friends. The animation is really top notch and the story moves along with humor at every turn.

Cloudy with a chance of Meatballs 2

One of the best animated features I've seen and equals the first movie in the series. When it is funny, it is very funny, and when it is sad, it is quite sad. The storyline, animation and scripting details are wonderful. My favorite foodimal was the watermelephant! Little Berry, the strawberry foodimal, was just as cute as can be, and the main characters are as strong as ever. The message "science is good" found in the first movie is not as clear in Meatballs 2. In this movie "good science battles bad science while bad science tries to manipulate good science" is a less clear message. However it is still about science and entertaining to others beyond science.

Review from an adult perspective

There were a few laughs in this one, but overall it felt like the writers were trying too hard with the jokes. Forcing laughs by using cliches and corny lines, which I'm sure kids would get a kick out of. But as adults, we know better. I didn't care too much for the story itself either. It felt rushed, quickly thrown together, and too familiar (unoriginal). I really liked the first one so I was really looking forward to enjoying this one as well. But needless to say, I left disappointed. When compared to everything else about the movie, the one thing that stood out the most for me was the writing. And not in a good way. Overall, if you're an adult wanting to see this movie, wait for the rental. If you're taking the kids, they'll be entertained. p.s. Don't see it in 3D. It's not worth the extra bucks. Entertaining

I took my eleven and sixteen year old sons to see this movie. It was no surprise to see my eleven year old laughing but my oldest got a kick out of the mild semi-adult humor. This was a cute, hugely creative sequel to the first "Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs". I was a bit surprised that nearly every showing over the weekend was sold out in three different local theaters.
