I have been waiting for this movie for about 2 years, and from what I saw in the trailer it looks everything and more of what I thought it would be.

This movie was so great I can't wait to see it again. I coould watch it many more times. There is so much excitment and adventure. I also read the book series which was also very good. Tell everyone you know to go to this move with you because thet will have so much fun and will be on the edge of their seats the whole movie. It is also a great movie for first dates because it is scary, romantic, funny, adventurous and age appropriate for anyone. But go see this movie cause it is insanely good and everyone will like it. Oh, and parents, it is a great movie for you to go see with all of your kids all ages will love it, even the boys. GO SEE THE CITY OF EMBER NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! -NOBODY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I read the book and from what I see I'm not happy

This book was a really good and I really got into the story because of the mystery aspect of it and looking at the movie it disappoints me because they show in the trailers the big surprise which is they were underground and made it all too gimmicky with the giant mole monster (which wasn't in the book) and the roller coaster like river( that wasn't that dramatic in the book just a lazy river). I just wish the movie was highlighting what made the book so good and not make it to sell tickets.

EXCITING, MUST-SEE MOVIE FOR KIDS AND ADULTS ALIKE!

My son has read the entire series of City of Ember books and he was dying to see this movie. I took him for that reason, although was not expexctiing to enjoy the movie myself. I was definitely in for a welcome surprise! Although a little hard to follow at first, the movie was exciting and had a great story line. Awesome special effects, wonderful cast of characters, well written script. According to my son, there were definite differences between the book and the movie, however not very many and personally, from the differences he explained to me, the differences in the movie sounded far more exciting than what was written in the book. Will buy City of Ember when it comes out on DVD.

Weak

Read the book! Don't bother with the movie. If I were Jeanne DuPrau, I'd be insulted. If I were Caroline Thompson, I'd be embarrassed. She completely missed the themes, symbolism, and highlights of the novel. My friend had not read the book and said it was "so-so." The group of 30 adults and kids who did read the book, 100% disappointment. The changes they made were unnecessary and didn't even make sense. I was hoping for better.
