It's, just beutiful, it really catches your attention since the beagining and keep you amaze through the hole story. the real 3D expirience makes it feel like your there ! It may not be the same experience that go to see it live, but It sure has some advantages that you coulnd experience live: Like some slow motion shots, were you can appreciate what the artist are doing, some shots from different angles that you couldnt aprpreciate on live expirience, so I really recommend this film to Cirque du Soleil fans, and to does that have never seen it this is a good start !

Great! Incredible filming! I have seen many live shows and was blown away with the close up filming and variety of camera angles James Cameron used to create the story! It was wonderful to see performances from angles that one cannot get from sitting in the audience of a live show!

So does that make my review less valid or more valid? Maybe if I viewed this, with expectations attached from having seen live performances I might be disappointed, but I really can't imagine how.
I can take or leave 3D with most films, but unlike some reviewers I'd say this is one of those rare movies inwhich the 3D is vital and a real part of the experience.
With no previous "Soleil" experience all I can say is I was wonder struck and awed by this movie. I'd hope a lot of people that perhaps haven't had the opportunity to see Cirque du Soleil do go see this movie.
I'm sure there is a difference between viewing Soleil live, and viewing this movie, but I don't see why people need to discount one experience over the other. Obviously film offers the chance to offer an intimacy and closeness that you might not get live, sitting in an audience. My speculation is that a live performance offers a spotaneous energy from performance that film can't match. Doesn't matter....see both.

I - LOVED - IT!!!!!!!!! I want to see it again! And I will...going back two or three times next week.
There are couple of requirements to enjoying this movie:
1. You have to LOVE Cirque Du Soleil. Not just "like"...you have to love them.
2. Don't spend even one second trying to analyse the plot.
3. It helps a lot to have seen at least a few of these shows in Las Vegas because the movie selects some of the best parts from each.
4. Did I mention you have to LOVE Cirque du Soleil?
My favorite Cirque show in Vegas is "The Beatles' Love" and there are about six scenes from it, including "Get Back," "Octopus's Garden," "Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds," "Being for the Benefit of Mr. Kite!", "While My Guitar Gently Weeps," and the film ends with a group shot of curtain moments for the different show casts set to "All You Need Is Love."
Cinematography is excellent. And the 3D is spectacular!
