Breathtaking

It was a beautiful show. A front seat view of Cirque du Soleil. Don't expect a movie full of dialogue and plot etc. This is the many different Cirque's woven together in a theme. It was amazing. However it made me want to see the real thing. I have my tickets to see "Totem"- can't wait!! My 12year old son thought it was awesome too.

Less expensive than a trip to Vegas!

"Worlds Away" is a compilation of some of the best bits of the Vegas Cirque du Soleil shows. It has a light framing story that consists of a couple of characters gazing at everything that happens in mild amazement. You get to see the cube juggling from "Mystere," the synchronized swimming and contortionists from "O," the nonsense that is "Beatles: Love," the awesome trampoline stuff from the Elvis show, and the wild lavish scenery of "Ka." Only "Ka" suffers from being seen up close -- the rest of it is amazing to see in 3D and occasional slow motion. When you see the shows live, you don't get to observe the beautiful dance technique and the details of the routine the way you do in the cinema. So if acrobatic stuff entertains you, go see it. Bits are tedious and silly. Don't try to follow the plot -- it's Cirque du Soleil.

Just Didn't Do Justice

I am a long-time Cirque fan - I've been to many of their shows throughout the years and was extremely enthusiastic about seeing this. I have to say though that I'm glad to have seen it but would never consider buying it and actually... I almost fell asleep during it.

Some of the acrobatics are simply amazing, as is to be expected of cirque. However, the mash-up of many of the Vegas shows into one made this extremely disjointed. Unlike the live experiences where you're sucked into the event, this one was hard to follow and allowed time for your mind to wander. I'm embarrassed to admit that I almost fell asleep during some of the water routines, as they droned on way too long. One of the things I love so much about live Cirque shows is that they are so involved - you have almost sensory overload trying to follow it all, but love the challenge. This instead forced you to see what the producer decided with tunnel vision, which I think really took something precious away.

the finale was a grand pas de deux that brought me to tears

Having experienced most of the Las Vegas Cirque du Soleil performances featured in the story, there is never a bad seat in the house. The 3-D movie places the audience front and center for the amazing moves, elaborate costumes, and intricate makeup, as well as the beauty of the movement of the acrobats' bodies.

Stunning Visuals

If you are expecting the usual Cirque du Soleil presentation of a taped version of one of their shows be prepared to be astonished.

The cinematography is wonderful and really adds something to the performances that you can't get in a live performance, yet it does not take away from the Cirque magic. There are moments when you feel like your are watching the show and others where you feel that you have become part of the show.

Highly recommended for fans of of Cirque and those that have never seen a show.

Worlds Away indeed

My wife and I have seen 4 Cirque stage productions, including Michael Jackson's tribute. We took four with us to the Worlds Away presentation, two of which saw La Nouba with us in Orlando. Every one was impressed by the production . . . my wife and I soon figured out that the Worlds Away was a preview, if you will, of some of the great shows that are resident in Las Vegas. For a seasoned Cirque fan, as a review of what is offered, or a novice who will be awed by the production, I'd recommend it to all . . .

Cirque Dy Solieil: Worlds Away 3D

The performance of this 3D viewing was superb and brilliantly presented. The story line was a very good lead in the direction that the story was going with a finally that was a fitting end to the story.

While I am a fan of Le Cirque, this was mediocre at best. There is no dialogue, you "float" through the story. You're better off going to see them live!

An experience in another world

It could have used a little more story-telling for the story line, but the visuals and dancing were breathtaking, as usual for Cirque du Soleil. James Cameron out-did himself on the creative, innovative production. The scenes with the vertical wall were astounding.....

Disappointed

I brought my 10-year-old granddaughter who hid in my arms during much of the movie. I do not recommend it for kids. It was mostly dark and scary. I had hoped it would be upbeat. Toward the end, we liked the Beatles music and dance. But earlier, music was in minor key, faces on the screen were angry or sad and we did not understand or follow the story through much of the movie. I have seen several Cirques live, all of which I loved, even bought the music and tapes (yes, tapes, from 1992 Las Vegas show). I appreciated the talent and hard work and excerpts in this movie, as taken from other shows, especially "O." Missed much of the connection to the basic story.

Amazing visuals!!!

Visually Artistic movie, with every camera angle you could think of, 3-d actually suprised me...it was amazing! I will be purchasing tickets to see the show in Vegas very soon.

Poor 3D Experience, Great artists and costumes

There were some really cool moves by the people in the circus however about 30 minutes into the movie it became really slow, soothing music making your drowsy. The makeup was awesome as well as the costumes. The 3D was a disappointment and in fact sometimes I couldnt even tell there was any 3D involved. I think this was because there was so much happening on the screen they had to take pictures from a distance therefore the people looked like minatures.

The water scenes were realistic and I dodged a couple of times when the 3D was working well. I would say the best part was the multi wheels turning at once with multiple people performing and not falling off and the best 3D experience was at the end with the close up of the embrace.

The crowd was varied ages and not a lot of kids.

Looks effortless

The movie was excellent...My husband and I both said we could have passed on the narrative with the girl wandering through the tents and so forth, but otherwise it was beautifully done...The performers make it look effortless yet we know how difficult it can be...The water scenes were amazing and the running through the cages high up in the air was extraordinary...My husband tried to copy one of the moves in the show which was to hold me with one arm yet he dropped me so we know its difficult and you must be very strong.....We cannot imagine all the practice that goes into this......My husband and I have been to Vegas many times, but have never been able to get tickets to the live show so this was a great opportunity to see it...It now makes us want to see it in person even more.....

Amazing Stunts!!!!

My Christmas present from my parents and boyfriend was taking me to see this movie, as they know that I have always wanted to see anything that has to do with Cirque Du Soleil. The 3D was overwhelmingly beautiful. Seeing this in theaters just makes me want to see a LIVE show in person SO much more!! I love the dramatic side as well as the humorous side. They balance each other out better than any feature film I've ever seen. It's great for people of any age, which not many movies these days offer that. I will definitely be waiting at the movie store to buy this on DVD!

It was an EXPERIENCE not a movie

This little advertised 3D show, CirqueDu Soleil, was an experience for the senses. It was so full of action that I had to remind myself to relax my muscles and try not to "help" the performers from my seat. Our tummies felt a little motion trouble at times because the 3D action made us feel like we were swinging along with the acrobats! I really enjoyed every minute of this film. I hope they make it available in theaters again so we can share it with our family and friends who missed it!
