Cheap Thrills

First time feature director nails this one. The script is tight, the acting, spot on, especially Pat Healy. I had to turn my eyes from the screen at one point and my friend had her fingers in her ears to avoid hearing the excruciating, and incredible, sound design. The two DPs work magic and make a film with little budget look like a million bucks. This film examines what it means to be a human being in the dehumanizing world of L.A. See it with people in a theater if possible!

I was very excited about this film. It started out very slowly, but never reached the excitement level or depth that I was hoping for. then it degenerated into a torture film. A faster paced film with more suspense would be "the man from the south", an Alfred Hitchcock short.
