This weekly sketch comedy series was a splendid vehicle for the talents of in-your-face African-American monologist Dave Chappelle. All of the sequences gleefully played what political pundits refer to as "the race card," with Chappelle attacking any number of sacred cows, both white and black. One of the series' most talked about sketches featured Chappelle as Clayton Bigsby, a blind white supremacist who had no idea that he was African-American. Created by the star and his longtime collaborator Neal Brennan (the team's previous credits included the theatrical feature Half Baked), Chappelle's Show premiered January 22, 2003, on the Comedy Central cable network. ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi
