Actress Catherine McLeod made her film bow with an unbilled bit in MGM's The Thin Man Goes Home (1944). Within a year, she was signed at Republic Pictures, where she became a prolific and briefly popular leading lady. Her best-known role at Republic was as the concert-pianist heroine of the lavish Trucolor romance I've Always Loved You (1946). McLeod worked fitfully in films throughout the 1950s and 1960s; her best showing in later years was in a recurring role on the TV daytime drama Days of Our Lives. As lovely and graceful as ever, Catherine McLeod appeared as one of the interviewees on the 1990 2-hour TV documentary The Republic Pictures Story.
