catch me if you can!
I have to say, this is just a personal favorite of mine. Not the greatest Spielberg flick, but pleasant and charming all the same. It's definitely a bit on the repetitive side, and there is little in the way of character development; in fact, Tom Hanks gives a lesser performance than usual, and he is one of my favorite actors. DiCaprio, on the other hand, shows great vulnerability at points... a very good role for him to portray. I think Spielberg took some great creative license with the film... it was the little things that made me smile (the songs used on the radio here, a bit of a Gatsby reference there...). The film is also highlighted by a fabulous score composed by John Williams... REALLY awesome. I wasn't surprised when I later found out that it won a Grammy, as well as other various awards.
Overall, a decent movie with great storytelling! I've seen it quite a few times, and I enjoy it every time.
