  Creativity throughout

  Low budget, no problem. Just attach certain elements to be included in the humor, problem solved.
  Will Ferrell is a comedian that has refined his craft and delivers within his style, that is his own. Kudos to Will for making a "foreign" film and jumping into something like Casa De Mi Padre. The casting was surprisingly exceptional in this "spaghettii western" B movie format. I think even Tarentino would be proud of the gore implemented without going over the top.
  
  Hidden within the broad range of comedic humor was a really good movie that I would recommend to anyone.

  Casa De Mi Padre

  From Will Farrell, what would you expect... FUNNY !! For sure... although a little weird, seeing him speak Spanish for the whole movie (he did a credible job IMHO). Overall, it wasn't a ripoff, but I am not sure I would pay another $10.00 to see it again... maybe wait for the DVD at RedBox for $1.30 !

  GREAT MOVIE, I ENJOY THE WHOLE MOVIE, I KNOW YOU MIGHT REFRAIN BECAUSE IT'S ALL IN SPANISH BUT IT'S FUNNY EVEN IF YOU HAVE TO READ (SUBTITLES) THE MOVIE.

  If u like Will Ferrell...

  then you will enjoy this movie, its not over the top and at time they use their small budget to bust jokes and to me it worked. When you hear Will Ferrell you would probably think big budget movie but this is not one of them. Also since the movie is in Spanish for the most part, subtitles is how this movie will be seen if Spanish is not a language you understand. But overall its still was a enjoyable movie, just not something I would tell someone you have to see unless your a Will Ferrel fan (not necessarily a fanatic just a fan)

  Thumbs Up!

  Yeah it's different, but it was certainly entertaining. Will Ferrell was surprisingly believable through his spanish speaking ability and couldn't have played the part better. Props to him! I found the cheesy backdrops, props and editing choices to actually be very comical due to the fact that it was not too overdone. If you are considering going to this movie, keep in mind that it is a Will Ferrell film, if you are not a fan of Will Ferrell and his humor or subtitles this is not the movie for you!

  Some funny parts

  For me, this movie was more like a series of Saturday Night Live sketches. A few were
  very funny, some not so funny and some very un-funny. The Spanish dialogue with English subtitles was not as cumbersome as I thought it would be, but it was still a bit of a nuisance. Why was it even necessary? Will Ferrel was just OK in this one and the other actors and actresses were somewhat stiff and not believable.

  It's not a movie for everyone, not even sure for who it is worth seeing. It was interesting, but not funny enough. They definitely made some bold choices, but didn't pull off the movie in the end. My Fiance hated it, I found it interesting, but not very funny. For the most part the theatre was quiet the whole time, just a few chuckles here and there.

  An hour and half of my life I won't get back.

  Don't waste your time. It started off slightly funny seeing Will act in spanish. This quickly wore off. I kept waiting for it to get better. No one in the audience laughed the whole time. I should have asked for my money back not only for the ticket, but for the gas as well.
  
  I don't know if it was just desperation or bad choices on Will's part, but his last few movies sucked (except for Land of the Lost).

  Will Ferrell is a comic genius!! I love him in anything. Normally I wouldnt see a movie with subtitles but it was slow enough that you could read and not miss anything

  Don't take it so seriously

  Casa de me Padre was hilarious. Expect to see cheap looking props and filming but that is part of why it is so funny. The love scene was hilarious and so was the snow cat. If you are open minded and looking for something original and outside the Hollywood norm then go and see this movie.

  A few funny parts but pretty unwatchable as a whole

  The is the first movie I have ever walked out of midway through. Even though there were a few laugh out loud parts, the story and premise was pretty unwatchable. I get that its supposed to look like it's bad acting, and that the over pronounced gestures, pauses, and laughing is supposed to be ridiculous, but after 10 minutes, it just got over played and boring. Definitely a rental.

  high hopes of good laughs quickly faded. Will Ferrell couldn't seem to decide whether he was playing a clueless western character in Mexico; or making a spanish " spaghetti western".

  Not for Dates

  It is especially enjoyable if you are knowledgeable about Mexican films, are Mexian yourself, or if you are obsessed with Will Ferrell. It is really dumb and slapstick humor.
