It was excellent in every way = singers, acting, sets, costumes, orchestra. A most delightful evening!!!

This was a very powerful performance. Two things bothered me however. The dances at the beginning of acts ! &3 although pretty were out of line and did not belong. Second, Carmen, doing the Gypsy dance in act 2 did not perform with castanets. The castanets enhance the dance. There was a touch of castanets in the background, but barely discernible.

This was the best production of Carmen I've seen. Don't miss it!

I got tired of paying top dollar for operas that aren't up to par. Many in Vancouver B.C. and here in Seattle (La Boheme comes to mind) are performed superlatively...but for the most part it is a lot of money for a shot at a good performance. Seeing the simulcast of the New York Met's opera performances left enough money for a great dinner nearby, easy parking, and a quick exit to home without alot of traffic afterwards. Will do all my operas this way. Want to put money into the local economy, but will do it in other ways.
