A wonderful passionate Carmen has come to life under the auspices of the Metropolitan Opera. It is in my opinion a marvelous do not miss occasion to see Carmen as it should always be done. Thanks to the stars and Metropolitan Opera. Well done.

Best performance of CARMEN ever. The volume in theatre was painfully loud and after a discussion with the manager...that was corrected quickly...then we all enjoyed the opera. I would encourage fans to bring friends who have never seen or heard a performance from the Met. It is such a spectacular event I almost feel sorry for those who have not given it a try.

This Met HD Encore was supposed to begin at 7:00. Nothing happened until 7:15, then there was a set of previews for Broadway shows, then there were the previews for all of the other Met Encores for this summer which played in a loop 4x (included a bunch of fathomevent ads, etc 4x). Then there was a preview of the Met HD 2013-2014 season (I may have this backward as the mind began to boggle after a while). The upshot was that the actual opera I came to see did not begin until between7:40 -7:45. Were there technical difficulties? No mention was made of that. Was this done on purpose? If so, then I'll not attend again - even though I like going to the opera at these HD performances. I can understand a small amount of preface to the performance you are paying to see, but this was way out of line. If I can't be assured that the performance will start within 10 to 15 minutes of the advertised time then I am out of your customer group. Was going to go next week but will pass on it due to this.

What a pleasure to be able to see an Opera from the Met. If you have never had the opportunity to see an Opera -- this is your opportunity. The SETS were amazing --- only from the Met. Carmen was strong and sexy. Don jose had beautiful moments in his aria and nice compliment to Carmen. Alot of very nice acting too. There was alot of movement, dance and very sexy compared with all other Carmen's I have scene before. If I were there live for the performance - I wouldnt have been this close to the performers. The music is familiar and intoxicating. Plus its nice to see some of the behind the scenes look at the set and musicians. Always love hearing the harpist along with other musicians in the third act (I think) in the Entrance. Never gets old.
