    Don't be so dramatic, people.

Point blank: this movie is hilarious. Never once did I stop laughing. Whether from the sheer stupidity of SBC's actions as the fabulous Bruno or because of the fashionista's infamous jokes, entertainment is entertainment. Of course some parts were inappropriate for the younger folk, but it's rated R. I mean no offense to anyone by saying this but do people normally take their children to R rated movies and expect rainbows and butterflies rather than sex, drugs, and nude people? Whether it's rated R or NC17 (does it matter? it's still too old for your children), you still don't have room to complain about the vulgar nature because of your ignorance towards the man's acting, etc. Everyone knows Sasha as Borat. And to me, that's warning enough. I thought this mockumentary of Mr. Cohen's was brilliant, witty, & wild... way better than Borat. Filled with incredible situations that make you want to pee your pants from laughing so hard. Forget what you've heard and create your own opinion.

A Complete Riot of a Film!!!

    by

I went to the midnight premiere of Bruno with a friend of mine and I have to admit I had low expectations for it. However, Bruno was absolutely freaking hilarious!!! From the opening music to the end credits of the movie I was laughing the whole time. I was thoroughly impressed the film and actually would like to go see it a second time, but if not I'll definitely be buying the DVD release! I must say I'm really surprised that this movie didn't get an NC-17 rating, but whatever.

Note: Some parts of film are quite "revealing" so parents I wouldn't be taking my kids to this one if I were you...

    Bruno ist WUNDERBAR!!

    by

You've most likely seen Borat, SBC's first outrageous flick... now imagine that only more offensive. Although this film has hilarious scenes with unimaginable acts of homosexuality and real life scenarios torn to shreds, I can guarantee the faint at heart will not appreciate the movie for what it's worth.
Sascha does a great job acting as homosexual fashion model Bruno, and goes above and beyond to get the most out of everyday peoples reactions. The plot isn't too vast or extraordinary, but let's be honest, if you are seeing this movie for the plot you don't know what type of actor Sascha Baron Cohen is.
All in all, it's a funny film and every scene will get a, "I can't believe they just did that" out of you. If you are open minded, a fan of Borat, or just want something completely crazy, go see Bruno and you won't be disappointed.

This movie should have 2 warnings

    by

1st Warming: vulgar, nudity, homosexuality, lots of profanity, maybe a NC-17 rating would be more appropriate and definitely NOT for kids.

2nd Warning: very funny. Avoid drinking, you may spit on the person in front of you. Many lough out lout moments. Funniest movie in a while.

    Bruno is Awful!

Bruno was beyond bad. I have never gotten up and walked out of a movie until I saw this one. I only made it through the first 30 minutes of the movie and then went to the front desk and asked to get my money back. I loved Borat and thought Bruno would be similar but there was so much nudity and scenes made purely for shock value. In the short time I was actually in the movie, there were multiple gay porn scenes and a full frontal shot of a man's genitalia that lasted several minutes. I don't mind nudity and I usually laugh at jokes others don't like but when it comes down to it...this movie was NOT funny! I have never written a review on here before but felt compelled to let people know not to waste their money on this ridiculously stupid movie.

    This movie was AWESOME!

I can see how people don't like the movie - with all the nudity, graphic sex scenes, oh and, if you're like the rest of America, because the star of the movie is GAY.

This was one of the funniest movies I have ever seen - and guess what? I'm gay! If you really think about the message, this movie was brilliant. It showed how much America still has not accepted gay people. It was incredible to see how mean and nasty people get towards gay people. It's almost like they think that homosexuals carry a disease and they're going to catch it. The worst part of the movie was that it was only an hour and twenty minutes. I would have loved to see more interviews.

If male nudity is not for you, then don't see it. On that note, why is it that male nudity in a movie about a gay male makes people so uncomfortable? We've all seen movies with female nudity and I don't see all the "OH NO!" ratings that Bruno has received.

    Just something to ponder...

    Total Trash

Don't waste your money! Bruno is a piece of trash, brilliantly marketed. Aside from a few momentary looks at the vicious underbelly of America's darker corners, an unfunny movie, veering towards basic porno that sets back gay rights 40 years. I'm so very disappointed. No one in my local theater, including myself, laughed much at all--most people had showed up expecting broad satire along the lines of Borat but instead got a film that doesn't begin to understand the world of gay camp. The scuttlebutt from the teenagers in my town is that "It's vulgar." Vulgar? For the teenagers of today's world to say that a movie is vulgar must mean that it really is bad... With a little bit of editing the film might actually have been better but as it is, it is overindulgent narcissism on the part of Cohen that parades around as comic satire. Its release and weekend box office returns shows just how low the satire bar has sunk in 2009. Prediction: will sink like a stone once the word gets out.

Bruno is one the funniest, and CRAZIEST AND DISGUSTING MOVIE I've ever saw, and I loved it!

I bet anyone who is familiar with my reviews, especially my two fans, would never think I'd sit through Bruno. But I did! Bruno is the most foul movie I've ever seen, it has the most craziest obscene things you could think of. Yet, in that mess, its so hilariously funny, I couldn't stop myself from crying a few times. Bruno was just as good, I personally say better, than Borat. It has a lot of real people that are pretty crazy themselves, but they ALL know Bruno is definitely wacko. Cohen did the performance of his life as he brought together a character that goes against so much that a normal person would stand for that he really had to work Bruno. Its Rated R for a reason XD.There are so many scenes of different situations Bruno is put in, I can't begin to start at which one was the weirdest. Lets just say the little dude he has "fun" with near the beginning was very eye opening, or closing ;). Anyone who even has the nerve to want to see this, WILL LOVE IT!

    GOOD MOVIE, go see it

Unfortunately This Film is Not Funny

It is almost 90 minutes of "in your face" gay anal sex. I used to love Sasha Baron Cohen but I wanted to take a shower after seeing this film. It should be rated NC 17. No responsible parent should bring a child to see this film. In several places it is disgusting and not AT ALL funny. The guerilla comedy encounters that all seemed so novel in Borat are stale and forced and largely staged in this movie. Most of the movie reviewers who want to seem cool won't tell you how bad this film is. There are hundreds of better things you can do with your life than see this movie. Stay away.

    An 80 Minute Self-Indulgent Romp

I know that those critics who found the movie terrific imagine that those of us who were offended or even worse, not entertained by this movie, are secretly homophobic prudes who don't know a good joke when we see one. I am neither homophobic nor am I opposed to off-color humor and yet this film was so horrible that I left before the end (apparently I missed the swingers party scene; thank God).

A movie has to do better than Bruno, to be a biting cultural expose. Instead of shining a bright light on hypocrites and prejudice, it showcases the worse stereotypes of the gay lifestyle in badly scripted and predictable vignettes, and then has the nerve to sneer at the supposedly unsuspecting prejudice of "middle" and "religious" America. Instead of a sympathetic, albeit imperfect, main character, I spent most of the film hoping that one of those prejudiced, hypocrites would smack Bruno and be done with it.

Sasha Baron Cohen is a Genius

For all you people who are bashing this movie for being gross, reinforcing gay stereotypes, gay porn, etc. you should have known what you were walking into when you went to see this movie. Obviously you never saw Borat or Da Ali G show on HBO... LOL. The whole idea behind the humor of Cohen's characters is to bring out the worst in real people's bigotry, stereotypes, and phobias by throwing relentless, exaggerated offensive situations in their faces to get a reaction from them. He uses these absurd characters to show the abundance of ignorance and hatred amongst the world's population, and does it all keeping a straight face. The best part about it is the people who he interviews or comes across who think he is a complete idiot have no idea that they are the ones who end up looking like morons, just like the majority of people on here that have given this movie a bad review. If you were offended by this movie you should have noticed the R rating and explicit nudity warning!

Hilarious!!!!!!! Don't be blindsided by the mixed reviews if you like satire

Yeah there are lots of male nudity, but if you can get passed that it is rather funny. The only thing sickening about the movie are the reactions of "non actors/real ppl" in the movie who don't know Bruno is fake. There is a scene with Paula abdul sitting on a hispanic immigrant's back for a chair, and there is also a scene were parents are wiling to put their children's lives on the line in order to be famous and make a quick buck. The whole reason Sacha created this character Bruno was to create satire of how stupid and blindsided our modern western society actually is. Yeah, there are some scene with dicks flapping around, but that is nothing compared to the sickening scenes of people holding up signs on the street that read "God hates Queers", and "Kill Fags". If you ask me that is more ****ed up than a fake gay sex scene. The only reason why Bruno even has mixed reviews is because most people are too stupid to even get the satire.
