Very good, but...
Breach was well done, never lagged, but could have been a bit more suspenseful.
You never had any sense of how Hanssen carried out his spying or got away with it for so long. You didn't really know why they started to suspect him. The story was entirely the story of O'Neil spying on Hanssen so the suspense was all about whether Hanssen would catch O'Neil in his efforts. There were a few tense moments but somehow, when it was all over, the final "catching" of Hanssen was somehow oddly anticlimactic to me.
The various characters all came off as pretty clinical and controlled - maybe that is how they really are and need to be in order to be successful FBI agents and maybe that is exactly O'Neil's point.
I enjoyed the movie and I knew the basis of the story going in, but I nonetheless expected a real spy thriller and it was more of a studied recap of the events.
