I have not been able to stop thinking about this movie. It was so good on so many levels. Kate Blanchett is wonderful in the tragic role of a rich, spoiled woman who loses everything through her her husband's dishonesty. The rest of the supporting characters do a superb job as well. Andrew Dice Clay is quite believable as a contractor who loses everything due to the mishandling of his savings through the Madoff character, played to the hilt by Alex Baldwin. The wardrobe was an important part of the movie as well. Kate's holding on to her Chanel jacket and pearls on her downward spiral reminded me of Blanche Dubois holding onto her Southern Bell wardrobe as she also cannot come to terms with her present situation.
Woody Allen's use of music had me waiting through the credits to catch who the artists were.

acting was very good, but script left a lot to desire. not worth the money to see some spoiled woman whi thinks she is better than her sister

I went to see Blue Jasmine by myself, as I knew I was going to be emotionally engaged to the max...and, I was. I don't care for Alec Baldwin as an individual, but he is a very good actor...he fit the role of a desperate, wobbly "wanna be" who knew no end to the ways that he could combine lies and love, deluding himself as he destroyed his wife, child and ultimately himself...I felt for Jasmine as she had a created herself built upon a house of cards...Woody Allen could always get inside a character better than most, and he has done it again..

Woody Allen hit a Home-Run with this one! An amazing cast handed an amazing and original script is always a great recipe! This is one of the best, if not The Best movie I have seen in some time! This is what the movie experience should be! Not a bunch of loud explosions and fight scenes to cover up the lack of talent in CREATING something special!!

We liked because Woody's own neurotic character was absent. It was interesting to focus on a neurotic woman without Woody's intrusion (if that's possible) and Cate Blanchett gave a really wonderful performance. Lots of other great characters, too.
