Yes, I write this review while I know it's no longer around. A bit long, over 2 1/2 hours, almost 3! Though in French, the credits have in the title, 'Book 1 & 2.' So, probably that explains its length. An interesting story of a young woman's early life and sexual development. If this film was "X" rated (porn) version; it could still work as artistic.

While I have nothing against watching beautiful young ladies engage in extremely graphic sex, I prefer to watch this sort of thing at home, with the door closed, and my pants down. Porn is fine, but please, let's not kid ourselves and say this has any redeeming or intrinsic value beyond a little exposition leading up to naked ladies screwing, and screwing... and talking a little, smoking cigarettes, then screwing.
So why did I go? It went on at the local cinema at the perfect time for me between appointments at the "before 5pm" rate of $4.00. There was one other person in the theatre.

I had not read the graphic novel, so I came into his film with unbiased eyes. To my delight, it was a wonderful coming of age story in which I could identify with several of the themes presented. This love story touches you to the core. It was beautifully presented. Bottom line, it is a beautiful portrayal of self-discovery and finding true love at all costs. In addition, i discovered the realization that the "happy ending," lies within you.

The main character had as much facial expression as Kristen Stewart, which isn't saying much. The sex scenes were hot, but not worth the almost 3 hours watching the rest of the film.

I enjoyed the acting. It was superb! However, I disliked the sex scenes. It felt like watching porn. I just wouldn't go to the movies to watch porn. I felt that the actresses were used, that those scenes could have been more tasteful. Not my cup of tea at all. Aside from that, the film was OK. The cinematography was beautiful too.
