A light-hearted romantic comedy that doesn't set out to change the world...
I saw the film today and overall, I enjoyed it. I can see why people would assume it looks "direct-to-video" quality, but who said it was a big budgeted film? If you skip the initial notions of how much you may hate Jessica Simpson, or just how you are expecting the greatest romantic comedy ever, then you can finally take a chance to view the film for what it is: a light-hearted small film that doesn't set out to chance the world or win Oscars or cure Cancer, etc, but just one that wants to make you laugh a little every now and then.
The whole film itself isn't too bad overall. The plot is simple, and easy to follow (and perhaps to predict), while the cast do their best with their roles. At times, the film's music did seem low-budget, but the journey through the film isn't too bothered by it.
In the end, if you're just looking for a fun time to relax your mind for a light romantic-comedy, this is it. It's what the film set out to do, so don't try to expect more from it.
