For You Who Didn't Get It!

What every bad review said about the violence, disturbing, human race... It's EXACTLY what i felt when i read the book! And It's what the book mean it to do!! And it's why i love Jose Saramago, it's what provokes to you when you read ANY of he's book's.

First of all, it is not a Catastrophe or Zombies movies.. If you look for "I Am The Legend" or "Independence Day"...FORGET IT ABOUT!!!

I read a lot of people saying:
"Oh, but don't explain how everyone get's blind neither why the doctor's wife is the only one didn't and neither why the sight come back..."
YEAH, DUH! That's the point! Saramago never explain nothing, he just tells the history...
If you never read Saramago before, well, it's about time.. because he's genious.

A lot of people critics the hard scenes, but i think Meireles it was a really subtle, in the book is 10 times worst. Meireles was fabulous, this is a really, really tough book to adapted,
such brave of him, no one could done better

    Original buzz:

    Blindness Will Strike a Nerve

    by nessalynn87

This film was very raw. It is a true realist film. Its aim was not to tell a story persay, but show an event in time. This movie had a lot of food for thought about human nature and our fears about human nature. This story says that we are savage animals who will do anything to survive. There are nice moments when the group of protagonists band together and become eachothers family, but any hope or spirit the characters had was completely overshadowed by the social message the viewer was assaulted with. I was disapointed that there was no real closure or explanations. And even though I get why they did it, it made me angry to see so much sexual violence. It was nearly impossible to watch these people be used and violated so personally. I appreciate movies that make you think, but I was honestly depressed and angry after watching this film, not uplifted. This movie was a miss for me. Slow moving, no real narrative structure, too much rape, no real resolution or catharsis.

    Blidness

    by movie_fanatic_1

Blindness really disappointed me. I was expecting more out of the film than what it had to offer. Don't get me wrong, I liked the acting but this stroy had so much more potential than it received. I really felt uncomfortable for about half the movie when they had to offer their women up to the others for food. I know this movie is rated R but the rape scenes were a little graphic. The story didn't seem to have that really good flow to keep it going and after the first thirty minutes became less interesting.
