Classic Mel Brooks

As I stated in my review of Animal House as well, if there was a comedy Hall of Fame this would have to be one of the first films added. Mel Brooks at his best.

So this movie is definitely a classic... write that down. I know I am making history here by calling it that, but well, it is. This is one of the few movies that I can watch that has constant racial slurs in it that doesn't have me squirming in my seat (except for the occasional fit of laughter). This movie was right in Mel Brooks' wheelhouse when he made it and he hit a home run. This is a movie that I can watch with my dad or with friends now or 20 years from now and the off-color humor will still be funny and relevant.

It is refreshing to see how funny being politically incorrect can still be in a day in age where society has to be so careful with regard to communication. Everyone around me in the theater was laughing and seemed to enjoy the humor of Mel Brooks. One guy behind me laughed so hard he snorted. I give this movie a 2 thumbs up and deem it as a hilarious classic.
