Biography

By the mid-1910s, impish Little Billy Jacobs was earning a reported 10,000 dollars a year. Onscreen from 1913, Jacobs had been one of the original Keystone Kids, appearing in the seminal, filmed off-the-cuff Charles Chaplin comedy Kid Autoraces at Venice (1914) and in his own Little Billy series. Chubby and with golden curls, Jacobs turned up in quite a few films for the Franklin brothers (kid movie-makers extraordinaire), Paramount, and Universal (Sterling Kid Comedies) but his screen career did not outlive the 1910s. ~ Hans J.
