Took the family (kids 7 and 9) last night and everyone loved it. If you want to see a movie that has a wholesome story line of people working together, this is the movie to see.

It was a wonderful story of the whales...even though there was sadness as well. It was well done, a little to the left of my political and cultural thinking, but it showed that both sides can work together.

I really thought that this movie would be right up there with Soul Surfer and Dolphin Tale; but it was a big let down. Saving the whales is only a front for the political agenda of this movie. I found it to be nothing more than Republican bashing, conservative bashing and an outright info commercial for Green Peace donations. The Russians save the day as far as the last step in freeing the whales.
I found it amusing that the film showed how ONE enviromentalist can shame government into doing what they want done. It also showed how by manipulating the press companies can sway public opinion. I think the only heros in this film are the Alaskan people from Barrow Alaska, even though they only choose to help save the whales instead of eating them to win public favor. All in all I give it a so/so; but knowing what I do now, I wish I hadn't wasted my time or money.

This is a great movie about a true story that happened in the late 80's. It will probably become a classic movie in our household that will be watched often.

This was a very inspiring movie that has you on the edge of your seat hoping for a miracle. It is encouraging that people from all walks of life overcame their differences to come together for a common cause. We saw it as a family and it was very appropriate for young children.
