  Ben Hur

  Best screening of all time perfect pic and sound faithful to original size and scope. TV Blu Ray can't do this film justice. Lucky to see it in a proper theater--the Egyptian, which has also been restored. The film actually premiered there 53 yrs ago.

  Beautiful

  My favorite movie since I was a little girl, I was grateful for the chance to see it on the big screen!!! Nice updates to the picture quality. I was on the edge of my seat the whole chariot race scene - even though I've probably seen it 50 times!

  Good to see on big screen again

  I had not seen Ben-Hur on a big screen since 1959 so it was grand to see the larger than life scale again and listen to the awesome music score the same way. I was slightly disappointed with the XD quality. There was some fuzziness at times as well as some jerkiness in a couple of the action scenes. But, to be fair, I don't know if those were there originally, as well. Regardless, this was not enough to dampen the whole experience at all. I took my twenty-something daughter with me (the audience was about 100% 60+ folks and she was probably the only one that young). She had seen bits and parts of Ben-Hur, now said she fully understands my love for the film, having seen the story develop, the characters, the wrapping up of the plot, etc. And, she got to experience the Overture, Intermission as well..and as it should be. Overall, the film was awesome as was the experience. Thanks to the folks (Century?) who bring these one night events of classic films back to the big screen!

  Epic

  This movie is where the slang "epic" originated. There are so many layers of this film, ranging from the original story to the direction that you could structure a college class around it. Truly one of the great classics of all time. A must see on the big screen.

  Classic Heston at His Best

  This is one of my all time favorite movies, but unfortunately, I was born too late to get to see it on the big screen. I was thrilled to be able to see this classic movie in its original glory. The chariot race was spectacular! A must see for any classic movie buff!

  Got To See It On The Big Screen For The First Time!

  Ben-Hur has always been one of my favorite movies. But I have only been able to see it on TV or on DVD. To be able to see it in a movie theater and in XD was a real treat.
  
  Their rendition of the film was not perfect. Some grain removal left artifacts that looked like black snow (very subtle, though) and the coloration was not what is expected from Technicolor. Perhaps the color difference was from the projection system and silver XD screen.
  
  But otherwise, to see the original detial and aspect ratio was fantastic. Of course, this movie is one of the best when it comes to plot. Screenplays don't get much better.

  Ben-Hur

  Absolutely one of the best Hollywood films ever made. And like so many epic films, it can only be fully appreciated when seen on a large scale such as, in this case, the Egyptian Theatre in Hollywood, which happens to be the very theatre that it appeared in originally in 1959 and ran for two years! The eleven Academy Awards which it won remained a record for decades until an equal number were won by Titanic and then by Lord of the Rings: Return of the King. It has the perfect blend of action, adventure, romance, humor, spectacle, intimacy, and even a religious angle done very sparingly and discretely.

  Ben-Hur (1959)

  The chariot race still rates as the most pulse-pounding action sequence ever filmed. Heston rules!
