I thought the movie was very good. The story and character build up was excellant. Also the tension of waiting to see what happens kept me nervous and anxious - and it wasn't so predictable like other movies these days! It was also a good peek into a diferent culture and time. Also it was beautifully directed and filmed.

It was a very good movie. The cinematography was great: beautiful scenes, rich colors and the perfect camera shots. The acting was good and casting solid. I actually believed the characters to be real people by the actors portrayal of them. My only negative critique is end of the movie. My date and I left the theater asking "What?" With that lone exception the script was engaging and provocative. It didn't lag, get stuck in the mud nor take off into 'no where'.

The movie is beautifully filmed. The epoch, British-ruled India between the world wars, is believably presented. A plot initially interesting becomes dark in a dismaying and irredeemable misery in which racism and personal weakness are essential elements. We are also forced to compare the "civilized" occupier's notion of justice in the case of a shocking homicide with the truth-seeking practices of the native tribe.

We went to Shadow. in Boca Raton, FL. The lights didn't go out for 10 minutes. The subtitles didn''t show on the screen. We were very upset and left. We got our money back, but lost the $2.00 that we paid to you. We were quite upset. We felt that Shadow shjould have given us back our $2.00. They told us to contact you. We know it was not your fault but very poor customer service on the part of Shadow. Sincerely Paula Langer
