How ever did this boring unrealistic movie ever get a good rating! The first torture scene of them driving through beautiful Greece and all you listened to is the wha-wha-wha talk in the car. Please movie goers do not waste your mone

This movie is about relationships. It is as if you are watching a play as the dialogue is great, witty and funny and true to life. I liked this movie a lot. The scenes from Greece are great, also. My husband thought that some of the 'talking' at the end was too much and became repetitious but we generally found the movie enjoyable. The movies is not for kids.

Wow! This movie is relentless in its exploration of the complexities of love, married life, and parenthood. This couple has lived through the fantasy love affair and now reality is all around them. Hawke plays a divorced parent whose son lives in Chicago while he lives in Paris with his wife (played really well by Julie Delpi) and twin daughters. He is grappling with the emotions of not being around for his son and brings up the possibility of moving the family to Chicago, which unleashes a whirlwind of emotions that they each need to air out before the night is over. What impressed me the most was how long they sustain the dialogue and discussion of the problems that mature married couples face. This is truly a romantic movie, but get ready for the fighting because it starts off mild and gets really rough.

Not very realistic because if a real couple had a relationship like this, they would either end up hurting each other or die of exhaustion. But as a condensed summary of the ups and downs of a real substantive relationship, this example was compelling, frustrating, funny, insightful, aggravating and inspiring . . . all at once. We all should be so good at getting things out and on the table, just not all in on car ride, or one getaway evening. People with healthy relationships will want to talk about what they see. People in relationships that are not healthy will find pieces of themselves and their partners. If good films teach you something, this is a great film/

I don't know why anyone would want to sit through this movie. The woman is a total *****, and he is just a pushover. The scenery and the music are beautiful, but who wants to sit by a movie, most of which is this couple bashing each other. She is so complicated and so full of anger, how could they withstand it? And she tries to make him feel that he should not be so much in his sons life. Not for kids!
