Beer Wars

Should be viewed by all beer drinkers everywhere. Big corporate brewers are disregarding those of us who know what beer should taste like by dumbing down their products and hammering the public with glamorous advertising. 1,500 independant brewers can't be wrong. From the film: The Aussies describe American beer as "Making love in a canoe, F***ing near water".

I should start off by saying this movie is only going to appeal to you if you like craft brewing and/or are a home brewer. You're given three people to follow, Sam from Dogfish Head, Anat (the narrator, director, writer) and Rhonda from...Moonshot? And the movie goes through their daily grind in order to well, make the movie, make their beer, or find financial backing for their beer. There's a lot of interesting information behind the politics of the beer industry as well and how much sway the macrobrewers, or mainly anheuser busch have when it comes to getting their way. If you're the kind of person who reaches into their fridge and grabs a Bud, Coors or Miller product, this probably is not for you.

The movie is a must see if you are interested in the micro-brew beer movement and if you enjoy watching a very well done documentary.

I thought the movie was good and informative. It really showed how the big 3 are controlling AHOLES !!!!!l I will look twice at the labels and make sure I'm not buying a AB,Coors/Miller product. Support your local micro brewery. Drink the beer from people who have the passion and really care about making good beer. Scott Shrum Ventura, Ca.

You will learn a lot about what it takes to make it in the beer industry and how hard it is to get your beers sold due to the three tier system. If you enjoy home brewing or have ever wondered what it would take to start your own brewery go see this film
