I remember watching The Hunger Games and thinking, wow, they did not stick with the source material and missing all the important stuff. Compared to Beautiful Creatures, that movie was a masterpiece. As a fan of the Castor Chronicles, I have to say DO NOT SEE THIS MOVIE. If you loved the books, you will HATE this movie. I know no book to movie adaption will ever be like the book. But this movie didn't even have the essence that made Beautiful Creatures such a good book. The direction is awful. The script is HORRIBLE. Just. don't see this movie. These people don't deserve your money.

Not all books translate well into movies. From what I've read and heard, this is the case with this film. I think what those avid readers fail to grasp is that with a book the author has a vast, almost unlimited, canvas upon which to paint a story, but with screenplays, it's a 110-120 pages of action and dialog. If it's not on the page, it's not on the screen. Therein lies the a difference between books and films. Long, rambling setups in books reduced to dialog, visualization unique to a reader becomes one size fits all for a viewer. So don't go in comparing this movie to the book or likely, as with others, you'll be disappointed. Instead, experience it as a play and you'll have a much different perspective. This is a good film, not a great one. It's populated with decent performances, excellent effects, a good story and some fresh and promising young talent...well worth the price of a ticket. See it. You won't be disappointed.

I read the book before the premiere and was extremyl disapointed to find that i did not recognize the story line. You would think that the movie was a pre-qual almost. i mean one of the major notions of the book was that Lena and Ethan could communicate telepathically. In the classroom, Lena was supposed to be sharpening her pencil when the windows broke and nobody but her was really hurt. not to mention there were more incidents like the Winter formal. And what happend to the Sweet Sixteen Party concert. and Ethan knew about Link and Ridley. So really what the hell did i watch yesterday cause that was not Beautiful Creatures. as for the Critic comments. I agree the accents were terrible. No cratch that they were etrocious. But for the most part i like the acting/ I just wished that the director stuck to the realy story cause the book was fantastic and i look foward to reading Chaos, Darkness, and Redemption.

I enjoyed the book, the movie is HORRIBLE: poor representation of the best seller. to many changes. From start to finish the movie leaves out and changes to many details that makes it exciting, and lacking in special effects, I should have stayed home and read the second book!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
