If you grew up listening to Hip Hop, if you are a fan of Tribe Called Quest, you must see this documentary. It's truly inspiring.

If you are a true fan of Hip-Hop, you will enjoy this film. Despite the bickiering rift that temporarily separated the group, the group changed Hip-Hop music. A time when Hip-Hop music was in it's "Golden Era", you get this nostalgic feel as you watch this film. The film showed the perspective of the artists and the connection that they built together. A time in Hip-Hop history that artists have followed, have failed to capture.

The movie covered the emergence of A Tribe Called Quest and their affect on all things 'Rap' back in the 90's. It also covered their lives together and apart. Great clips and music!

ATCQ...best Hip-Hop group ever...I wish they were showing it more theaters to show love to this group, introduce ATCQ to a younger generation and to support Michael Rappaport. I loved it! (Queens all day!)
I will add this DVD to my collection when it's released.

Beats, Rhymes & Life, is a great effort from actor turned director Michael Rappaport. As a longtime fan of A Tribe Called Quest they've always been icons in my eyes. This movie made them human for me and detailed some of their daily, artistic, and personal struggles. Takes you back to the creation and impact of some of their most influential albums. Definitely a must see for any fan of hip-hop and music in general.
