I will admit that parts of it left me a little confused, but only for a moment until the captivating your girl drew me back in with her charm! Simply a must see!!

This is the worst movie I've seen in quite some time. It's depressing and disjointed from start to finish. The symbolisms are obsurd. From my perspective, there were no redeeming moments in this dismal slice of life.

Loved it! It will stick with me for a long time to come. Visually arresting, Plausible, yet inventive story and amazing acting by the adorable 5 year old lead, Quvenzhané Wallis (now 7 y.o. I believe). Although she's very young, I could very well see her ending up with a best actress Oscar nom.

Beasts of the Southern Wild

While the movie has many laudable attributes, it is inconsistent at best. The story is of a severely neglected 6-year-old trying to stay alive in the aftermath of a flooding storm while most of the adults around her are drunken and mentally ill. It is not the story portrayed in the Fandango review of legendary beasts unleashed by the melting of the polar ice caps connected to the father's mysterious illness. The beasts are symbols of the fear the child experiences in her unsupervised life, and she must tame them in order to stay alive and in control. The acting is amazing, but rating the movie at 100 percent is undeserved. Similar to Tree of Life. Can someone give me the hours I wasted on these movies back?

Wowee. This movie has all the epic themes: nature vs civilization, fathers & daughters, love in many forms, and so fascinating you cannot look away from the screen.
