Rated as a "must see" by some movie critics, my wife and I felt this was a waste of time and money. No broad appeal, no message that you could carry home - a colonoscopy would have been more fun.

I enjoyed very much the child's perspective througout the move and the mesmerizing acting skills of the little girl. However the story did no quite convey a clear message.

The movie is relatively dull and pointless. The reviews made me expect to see something profound but it certainly wasn't.

This was the most unappealing and depressing movie I have seen in a long, long time. The setting was so bleak and repulsive, you wanted to go home and take a good shower. I guess I missed the point of this movie! And so much for four stars ratings!!!

This movie takes you into a world where many of us have never dared to venture, (but could find ourselves one day!). In spite of all of the apparent suffering, poverty and addiction symptoms of the disenfranchised, we find people who have connection and community with the earth, the sea and each other This is also the story of a father's drive to use his last remaining breaths, which is all that he has, to empower his daughter to survive, thrive, and assume her connection with all living things; which is more, I'm sure, than most young middle and upper class girls (and boys) will ever get from either of their parents.
