MOVIE OF THE YEAR!

Battleship was AMAZING! I loved the acting, I loved the cinematography, and I loved that the film kept me on edge! If you like action, then this film is for you. If you like comedy, then this film is for you. If you like drama, then this film is for you. This film is an all around great film to experience! Also, Rihanna did an excellent job in her first role! Seeing Battleship at midnight on premiere day was awesome! I'm definitely going to go see it again :)

Batttleship was better than expected, was funny at the begining. The action and the special effects were grate, expect to see a sequel. MUST SEE IN ETX FORMAT

Amazing on a Huge Screen

We decided to see this on the largest screen in Hawaii. Good call. While it isn't a sophisticated script, the story is corny and predictable, nevertheless the effects possible are so "fantabulous" it is a lot of fun. We loved the ending & of course, living here in Hawaii it was pretty rad to see the Hawaii scenery etc. as the epicenter of the aliens invasion.

Plesantly suprised!

I wont lie I went not expecting to much. Just a cheeseball of explosions and not much else. And in a way that is a lot of what it is. But you know what? I actually really enjoyed it! You can't go expecting a massive plot because there isn't one. Its a simple summer movie full of eye candy. But all the actors did just fine for their purpose and its always cool to see Peter Burg use members from his Friday Night Lights cast. But anyways about the movie. The movie itself I actually found to be VERY creative and just a lot of fun. You'll notice a lot of things that point to the board game and just laugh, not cause its stupid, cause its clever. And there is a cherry on top for the finale that I wont spoil. But for me the end was SUPER corny, but I loved it! Corny isn't always a bad thing and in this case it isn't. I just found myself smiling in a good way. All this movie is, is a good time at the movies. Do yourself a favor after you've got your Avengers fix and see this.

Great Action

Loved the action, special effects, and the way it draws out your American patriotism. It even has a little romance in there to soften the story line. Great for kids 6th grade and up. I would see it again.

Great Action Flick

Lots of high intensity Action and was pleasantly surprised at how they incorporated the Board Game grid patterns and the Aliens sorta looked like Halo characters

Mindless

This movie is good if you want mindless fun. Start to think about it too much, and it's just plain ridiculous. But it's a good action flick that the kids can see. So catch a matinee, take the whole family, and turn off your brain when the lights start to dim.

It was fun. Typical summer blockbuster: destroy a few monuments and a major city and throw in romance, hokey lines and impossible actions. It was loud, captivating and my wife clapped at the ending. What more needs to be said?

Great movie. Slow start up but helped build characters. Little boy next to me about 9 years old was jumping up and rooting for the Navy. Out of 10 I give it 9+. No bad language or sex.

I am a Sci Fy addict

This is a great movie. Could be a true movie some day where, life imitates art. I know we are not alone in this Universe. Seeing all of our Naval ships and the servicemen of the present and the past work together. I loved it and could not help but cheer them on from my seat. It was cool how a lazy kid turned his life around and made everyone proud. Scary to think that this could happen but we have our Servicemen and women to help defend us. God Bless them all. Great movie to have for the Memorial Day weekend.

Battleship a Good Sci-fi.

Really enjoyed this movie! especially made for the over 60 crowd who are sci-fi fans. Should of been released away from the comic book movie that everybody saw.

Battleship rocks!!!

This was the perfect movie for people who have family in the Navy, have been on and learned about Navy ships, or really just whoever has a passion for the Navy must go see it!!! The special effects were so good, and it wasn't just a movie with huge explosions that made it good, it brought you back to the good ol' days of Battleship as a kid, even the times where you wanted to more your ship so it couldn't be hit! This movie was just amazing, it had me awed just sitting there.

Surprisingly good!

My husband wanted to see this movie and I was at first skeptical - wondered "how can they turn this classic game into a movie". Suprisingly it was done well. We both loved the movie and I would definitely see it again.

one of the worst movies

i don't make that statement lightly, i rarely feel that way but this movie was beyond terrible and i was expecting so much -- for the first 30 minutes, you feel like you walked into some other movie -- then they use this to set up this loser of a character, that you don't feel any connection to and then there was some bad acting -- not from the main cast but from the secondary characters who I understand were real people not actors, so I guess no fault of their own. Best character has to be scientist Hamish Linklater (who was in the great adventures of old christine).

But honestly anyone who trashes the transformers movies must watch this -- because you will never again say one bad thing about michael bay or transformers. Sorry, the just ok special effects can't save this, I couldn't wait for this to be over.

This movie was just okay.

To say the least I didn't expect much from a movie based on a board game that has no characters. Wasn't sure what to expect from the story. All in all it was decent. The action sequences were very good and the acting was done fairly well. The first half of the movie was a little boring and was just plot filler. Although I did really enjoy the last 45 minutes or so. There were great action sequences and you even got to see a hint of the actual board game make an apperance. There were some touching moments in this part of the movie that I liked. Including the retired vets getting involved towards the end and the amputee that put himself on the line to save another. I would recommend this movie to other people, although not as a must see in the theater. It would be more like when you find the time, it is a moderate to good action movie to fill your movie night at home.
