Del Lord, director of many a Three Stooges farce in the 1930s and 1940s, told the actors when to move and when not to move in the silent Barnum Was Right. Glenn Tryon plays a young go-getter without a dime to his name. To prove himself worthy of his sweetheart Merna Kennedy, Tryon tries to rejuvenate a shabby resort hotel. He fills every room-and then some-by spreading the rumor that a fortune in gold is buried somewhere on the hotel grounds.
