Few movies in Hindi cinema have portrayed differently abled characters with such subtlety. Anurag Basu does this with aplomb. Few movies have portrayed romance with such sincerity, and Basu pulls if off with aplomb. On the downside, there are unnecessary twists and continually shifting timelines that take away from the pure, simple charm of this movie. Overall, the pluses far, far outweigh the minuses. Watch this for Ranbir Kapoor, for Ileana D'Cruz, for Priyanka Chopra, for Anurag Basu, for Darjeeling, for cinematography, for music... the list goes on and on!

I heard a lot about this movie that how great is it and nominated for Oscar. I did not see this movie worth for Oscar at all? What is there in this movie to be nominated for an oscar? Hardly any enterainment, strory is very simple, and story-telling in terms of flashbacks is so confusing, complicated, and boring that it is hard to watch the whole movie. I'm sure it will not be selected for the oscar. Ranbir's acting is no doubt very good, but that is not enough for a great movie. I think Director needs some training in movie making.

Excellent performance by Ranbir and Priyanka. However I think Priyanka takes the honors with her outstanding performance. The story is nicely woven together with a bit of suspense to it but not very surprising, there a some chinks in it but all in all its a good see.

Barfi!

Baaaa-feee! More like one of those light novels than a bollywood movie, Barfi! takes off with a comic chase, wasting no time introducing the eponymous character, played lovably by Ranbir. It then meanders through the Darjeeling of the 70s, weaving in a love story (or two) with plenty of sweet (not crass or overly slapstick) humor thrown in for good measure. Priyanka looks adorable and acts even more so while Ileana makes a convincing Bollywood debut. If you're in the mood for a cute movie, get yourself a piece of Barfi!
