The lighthearted nature of this Hungarian film is implicit in its title, which translates as Friendly Expression, Please. Skoke Szakall (who later enjoyed a substantial Hollywood career as S. Z. "Cuddles" Sakall) stars as a two-bit amusement-park photographer who aspires to become a photojournalist. When he finally gets his chance, it has the unexpected result of involving Szakall's daughter Eva Szorenyi with a local celebrity. The girl must endure the humiliation of public scrutiny, which makes Szakall feel like a heel -- at least until he manages to straighten everything out at the end. Skoke Szakall's propensity for scene-stealing is herein matched and sometimes surpassed by the equally popular Antal Pagar. ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi
