A lot of hustle and bustle with some positive development

Avengers: Age Of Ultron delivers a lot of busy action. Joss Whedon's fingerprints are everywhere, with witty one-liners and some solid character development for Natasha. Hawkeye receives surprisingly good characterization that forms him into a three dimensional being. The film is long, but doesn't feel that way. Everything you may have liked about Avengers is still here. Spader's voice is a great success as giving Ultron solid villain credibility. He's no Loki, however. This film is just packed with things and stuff and people. Much of the action is shot incredibly too tight, losing what was great about some of the sequences in the first film's third act. The denoument feels abrupt and flat, and no one looks like they're in any actual danger, except during a middle-film fight between Hulk and Iron Man. Still, it's more tried-and-true Marvel that sets up their eventual "Phase Three". I recognize its obvious and sometimes sloppy brush strokes, but still enjoy the larger picture.
