I LOVED the opening scene of Dagny flying into Galt's Gulch! I thought both the scenery and the direction were excellent throughout the movie.
The casting was exceptional, especially Esai Morales as Francisco. I found all of the characters, both the heroes and the villains, very believable. Hats off to the casting director!
What was most impressive was the conviction with which the heroes delivered Ayn Rand's words. It was great to hear them come alive on the screen. Rearden's "court" scene was cause for a standing ovation in the theater as well as on the screen!
In today's culture where individual rights ARE being trampled incessantly by the professional "bullies" in Washington, where force is advocated as the solution to every social issue, it is uplifting to hear Ayn Rand's words spoken by her own characters on the big screen for everyone to hear. There is no better defender of one's right to one's own life and all that THAT concept entails.

Better pacing, better story line, better casting... you don't have to have read the book to be swept along by this one. There are some great lines, delivered well, and good action sequences. My only complaint is that at times the dialogue seems forced to get philosophical points out quickly that book develops over time. All in all, though, the movie is faithful to the book but suspensevul and visually engaging, too, so well worth seeing for Ayn Rand afficionados and the general public alike.

What a message this movie sends to us during these terrible times. Ayn Rand's classic was a terrifying prediction of times to come, and what happens when people lose there sense of personal responsiblity, feeling entitled to being taken care of from cradle to grave. "Absolute power corrupts absolutely!!"
If you missed Atlas Shrugged I, rent or buy it and then GO SEE THIS AMAZING FILM!

A good adaption of part 2 of Atlas Shrugged, greatly improved over part 1.
Although the first half was too talky, the second half of Part 2 had excellent action and excitement. Fans of Atlas should be happy, and others should find it enjoyable. Part 2 is not without flaws -- too much talking heads in the first half, and missed opportunities to show the depradations of government upon ordinary people. Nevertheless a good film.

Great adaptation with excellent story telling. Although it took a minute to get accustomed to the new actors, the flow between the first part and this one is seamless and I was in for a great ride. Even the cameos are wonderful and Teller SPEAKS! Part two begins and ends on a high note and now I'm looking forward to part three. The adaptation of this movie to the book is without any deviation and the photography is sharp and clear. For a very complex book to be made into a movie and to keep it intact is very very difficult and this movie does it all, perfectly. A+++++
