It is a must see. You will recognize the decay our society is moving toward.

    Critics always looking... not watching

    by

95% of critics gave Shrugged Part II 2 thumbs down. If you have seen part I, then you'll know how wrong they are. Most of the cast did not return which was sad in it's own way, but those that have stepped in have done an incredible job. My friend (whom has never seen Part I) thoroughly enjoyed Part II. This is a movie for the intellectual in all of us who see what's afoot in our world today. And yes it does beg for more answers to the furthering questions, but that's what makes it an even better movie. There too many movies out there that are predictable in itself and doesn't bear any surprises or questions of the Who's, Why's and How's. Atlas brings a refreshing anticipation to those whom have given even the slightest though on the progression of our economy in connection with our Government and the future of America. You can't always have the bad guys lose in the end of every movie, that's just down right dumb. But the portrayal of the bad guy as our own government is interesting.

    Unexpectantly Surprised

After the disappointing Part 1 of Atlas Shrugged, I wasn't expecting Part 2 to be much different. However, I was excited, amazed, and totally engrossed during the entire time. What a difference! We all know that Ayn Rand's book is a classic, and that bringing it to the screen would be a giant undertaking. But it was accomplished in part 2. My advice ... do not miss it!

    Atlas Shrugged ll

    by sam1995

The movie was great, It hit a cord on whats happening in Washington now. It showed how Washing takes over a little at a time, over time the next generation does not see the change until they have lost all their rights, and then it's almost to late.

We need leaders that will stand up to the royalty in Washing and get them out of there.
read Common sense by Thomas Pain and see how our representatives should do their jobs. They represent us and should do our will , or what they tell us they are going to do when they are running for office.
This country is to great to be led buy a bunch of pompous and shallow representatives, who are only interested in them selves and their friends. It looks to much like England 1776, where the government owns every thing. and gives back only to the chosen few.

Remember the term real-estate means "Royal Land'.

Did you ever go past a lot and see a sign that says no trespassing city property ? Well who is the city I thought WE were the city.

    Atlas Shrugged: Part 2

In comparison to the first movie, this one followed the book closer. It was much better organized and easier to understand the plot. Very good. Suggest every one see it. Excellent!!!

    Atlas Shrugged Part II

At first I was upset with all new actors. However, after getting to know the new actors, some of them did a better job playing their characters than the previous movie. I really miss Dagny though. I really enjoyed the story and can only say if you are a Ayn Rand fan, then you NEED to see this. I am going to see part 2 again this weekend and cannot wait for the third installment.

    Not For Entertainment

    by USA1752

The United States Constitution is specifically designed to protect against tyranny. It is the one and only document in the entire history of all mankind that prevents us from falling back into the dark ages. Without it we can look forward to scenarios such as this movie. Get a copy of the U.S. Constitution and display it proudly in your home. You'll be glad you did.

Not Surprised the Critics Panned It

The movie is an undated adaptation of the fiction book written 55 years ago by Ayn Rand and is ultimately going to be in three parts (this was the second). It does a very good job of presenting the view of economics that many of us believe in and does that by telling a story that depicts what many of us think is in store for our country. Definitely not the movie for many people. But others will greatly enjoy it and will be eagerly awaiting the third part. The critics on Rotten Tomatoes gave it a 0% rating, but the audiences give it an 82% rating. Due to the fact that the movie is extremely right-wing on economics (but not social issues), and due to the fact that the budget was quite low ($20 million), there was a lot for the critics to dis and people like myself to like (strong advocacy for rational self-interest and capitalism) and a lot to respect (on that kind of budget, they did an amazing job). Had to choose between this and Taken 2. Glad I went to this one.

    Atlas Shrugged II

I LOVED the opening scene of Dagny flying into Galt's Gulch! I thought both the scenery and the direction were excellent throughout the movie.

The casting was exceptional, especially Esai Morales as Francisco. I found all of the characters, both the heroes and the villains, very believable. Hats off to the casting director!

What was most impressive was the conviction with which the heroes delivered Ayn Rand's words. It was great to hear them come alive on the screen. Rearden's "court" scene was cause for a standing ovation in the theater as well as on the screen!

In today's culture where individual rights ARE being trampled incessantly by the professional "bullies" in Washington, where force is advocated as the solution to every social issue, it is uplifting to hear Ayn Rand's words spoken by her own characters on the big screen for everyone to hear. There is no better defender of one's right to one's own life and all that THAT concept entails.

    Liberal press

    by Dr Chas

I noticed how fans, myself include, loved the film and yet the ctitics hated it. No doubt it is because they don't care to have the public's eyes opened as they part of the problems we have.

    "Professional" Critics Suck

It's amazing how most fans give this movie a stellar rating but the critics say it's horrible. Hmmmm, who will I listen to? These critics obviously have an anti "for the people, by the people" govt agenda. Only in an Obamaniac world.

    Part 2 is right on

    by twojo6

I only cringed when she said "do not use that phrase", besides that I loved this film.
But then I loved Part 1 also. Perhaps I am biased having actually read and reread the book.
The actors fit the parts. Maybe Dagny's brother was a bit bozo'd too much. But I guess it's hard to squeeze 333 book pages into a 1:52 film.
My concern for non readers is they may not be as forgiving as me and will pass on the film as weakly done.
Whatever. I want to see it again, and recommend it wholeheartedly.

Who is John Galt? An immature child.

Poor production value with laughable special effects. Weak acting and a ridiculous storyline. This is a story for 14 year old boys who believe impractical and immature fantasy, not for thinking adults.

Not a fan of the actor changes

    by

I was really excited to see this sequel, until I heard that they replaced all the actors. Not only did they change them, but aged them 15-20 years! So this kinda ruined it for me. If they had started out using the actors in this film in the first film, it would have been better.
