RKO's Meanest Gal in Town is the first recorded credit for American screenwriter Arthur T. Horman. After spending the mid-1930s with Columbia's "B" unit, Horman free-lanced at several studios, writing for performers as varied as the Ritz Brothers (Argentine Nights), Jack Oakie (Navy Blues), Abbott & Costello (Buck Privates).
