To viewers of a certain age the movie had special significance. I remember reading that the Canadians had smuggled the 6 Americans out. I had never read that it was a CIA operation. The movie took me back to that time. The background, cars hairstyles etc, was perfect. The movie quickly drew me in. One quickly felt the fear at the embassy and the frustration in devising the plan for extraction. The final scenes were riviting. Don't miss the very end!! Who is Ian?

Not to much to say about the camera work, but the movie as a whole was exciting, funny, and suspenseful. I was entertained the whole time!

I fidgited and squirmed in my seat until almost the very end of the movie, as it should have been, I think. I looked around a couple of times, and different people react different ways. Some were reverent, even until the last of the credits, some had no visible reaction at all. My opinion was that I appreciated the story being told. Living through that time, seemed like another news story nagging at us day after day,. It was a little more hair raising than that. I am ashamed to say I went through that passive time in my life, although being so clandestine a mission, maybe I didn't have anything to be anything more than passive about.

91 out of 100 Ben Affleck proves you don't need guns and explosions to make a motion picture suspenseful, you need patience, brilliant acting and intense imagery.

I found this one of the most suspenseful movies that I have ever seen. I think it could be that I remember enough about the events to feel the reality of the movie yet did not know the story well enough to know the outcome. The cinematography was well done and appropriate to the period.
