Argo

The film was actually quite gripping. Alan Arkin as great as he can be, also John Goodman. I think the movie would have been even stronger if Ben Affleck had just stuck with directing rather than directing himself in it. He is a pretty wooden actor, much better behind the camera!

If you like edge of your seat suspense, some adult humor, and a fact based story ... this is a must see movie! Great shooting; makes you feel like your right there. Sticks to the historical storyline very well. There was undoubtedly a little Hollywood rewrite for added suspense, but very little. Very believable acting! Loved it! Would see it again loved it!

Edge of your seat! genius!

a masterpiece. Both the truth upon which it's based as well as the film in all aspects are incredible. The plan worked because people embraced the impossible with passion and dedication [and thankfully our technology was not then what it is today]. Good to see Affleck reconnect with the genius he showed with "Good Will Hunting". A spot on cast!

Beautifully done. We lived through this era. Americans were much calmer about the dangers of the Middle East because we hadn't been attacked on our soil. So, the reaction wasn't panic or war. We were angry and it was used for political fodder to bring down Carter. Affleck did a great job capturing the times, the look and the feel of a real crisis being handled by professionals. It should be a must see for Americans because it explains why the Iranians hate us and also shows the beginning of the Fundamentalist stranglehold on the Iranian people. That said, it is a quiet and somber film with no special effects, lots of good acting and intelligent directing. It is real life.

Although I lived through the Iran crisis and remember vividly the release of the hostages on January 20, 1981, I had no idea of what happened with the six Americans who were protected by the Canadian ambassador. This film is genius in portraying the true events. Ben Affleck and George Clooney have created an outstanding documentary of a previously unknown event in American history.
