A smooth Richard Gere, totally controlling and power crazy, rules his empire and all the people surrounding him as if he is playing a game of high stakes chess. He gets hassled enough - but every time he has another problem to solve, like possibly going to jail, he gets stronger and more capable of solving whatever the feature film debut director, Nicholas Jarecki's script, throws his way. And there is plenty of stuff to keep you totally intrigued.
The movie goes fast. Before you know it, it is over! Brilliant cast and all so beautiful, the people, the places and the shots of NY. Makes you feel close up and personal - like you are in their world.

The movie begins with the financial intrigue that the title and poster image leads one to expect, but this well crafted multi-layered plot soon takes a sudden turn and thickens into something darker. Well cast and acted by all. Memorible, and all my monies worth!

It was a good movie and had some good twists. My wife wanted to see it, so I did. Richard Geere as usual pulled it off and did a good job. I'd give it a 7 out of 10...not God Father or Star Wars...but a solid movie.

What can I say? I like Richard Gere. He's the man. And with all pistons fired he is phenomenal on screen.
This movie was a well crafted story. Definite proof that we don't need to blow up half a planet to keep your audience's interest. From opening to closing you get the clear feeling that something is going to go very wrong here. The thriller element is clearly there. The characters smart, and the decisions made along the way a perfect balance between surprise and predictability. Even you plot geniuses out there can feel smart following along.
I particularly loved the ending. It went somewhere I didn't expect it to go. The definition of the true monetary American hero.
By the way, what is an Applebee's?... Classic.

If you really want to work for a Hedge Fund - you should watch this movie. If you lost money in a Hedge Fund - it will, probably, make you nauseous.
