If you don't see this movie Brando will hunt you down and cut off your head...

In all seriousness, this movie is a true piece of cinematic perfection. The rising tension present in this movie balances perfectly with the way the characters unravel before our eyes. Brando, Sheen, and Duval all put in performances for the ages that give great added depth to their characters. Also, a little known fact is that a cow was actually butchered during a scene in this movie, so if you're looking for the Humane Society seal of approval, I'd suggest you hug a tree instead and then pick yourself up a copy of this movie. Take the time and watch the director's cut to see Coppola's real vision of the movie.

Coppola directed, but this is a Milius movie. Felt like I was seeing it for the first time last night with the sound and picture restored. Outstanding in every way. Thank you, Aero staff and American Cinemateque! Ted Buchanan SAG/Aftra

Apocalypse Now theatrical cut

This is a classic. Not for the week of heart, but amazing production values. Conrad's "Heart of Darkness" set in Vietnam during the war. Had to take my son, as this film should be viewed for the first time on the big screen.
