Great performances

The story was very maudlin, certainly with a point. Not the feel good movie of the year, but the performances were good, shot very nicely. Good script for the subject matter.

Amour is not a family film.

This film was basically terrible. Although the actors did their job well, they could not overcome the morbid path the director and or writer took them down. It may be a film of reality for some but it lacks anything recognizable in the realm of human love and human compassion. Regret having wasted my money on it. And it is a waste.

Honest, visceral, superbly acted. Even the apt is a character in this impeccably portrayed treatise to love in it's most challenging true-to-life mileu. Death be not proud.

Lovely movie of 2 octogenerians dealing with a progressive disability of the wife. Tells how not o ly the patient suffers but family and caretakers, also. When one gets to my age, 75, you start to worry about these infirmities and how younwill deal with them. Thoughtnthenacting was wonderful.

My wife and I are both in our 80's. One cannot help wonder how it's going to happen. We know it will. Just having the experience of taking care of someone in the situation described in the film is not the same as living it yourself. This film made me have to consider my future. French, Yes, but very realistic and introspective. It isn't really entertainment for entertainment's sake. If you have the guts, go see it.
