Kate Mulgrew made her American TV debut in the taped 90-minute melodrama Alien Lover. She plays a lonely, orphaned teenager, recently released from a mental institution. While wandering around in the family attic, Mulgrew switches on an old television. She sees the image of a young man (John Ventantonio)-who promptly begins talking to her.
