Saw it with my husband and another couple and all 4 of us LOVED IT! I like Tyler Perry anyway as most of his characters (especially Madea) but . . . he was excellent in this role as he always is.

    Nice Change

I think Perry did a good job as Alex Cross. Found myself looking for a hint of Madea. I didn't like the fight scene. The camera was jerking from angle to angle and shaking. That was distracting. I guess to hide the stunt double. Great start to a versatile acting career. As long as he can wear many hats he has it made.

    Alex Cross ~

I was originally going to see paranormal activity 4, but it was rated R so I had to buy tickets for something else. Alex Cross was the only other movie about to play, so I settled for that. As it turns out, I LOVED IT. Even as starting to watch the movie with a closed mind, I ended up loving it. Very good movie, never judge a movie by its title haha!

This film kept my attention, but the script was rather weak. Dialogue was very predictable throughout most of the movie. I also felt the film lacked good character development.

I couldn't help but think "The Butcher" character was a cross between the cat burglar from the 1986 "Shadow in the Dark" episode of Miami Vice and Mitch Leary from the 1993 film "In the Line of Fire" with all of the bizarre expressions and the phone conversations with Cross.

I enjoy seeing Tyler Perry in roles that don't require him to wear a wig and a dress. (I love Madea but I think she's run her course on the big screen.) He continues to demonstrate some decent acting skills beyond his well-known comedy-in-drag routine.

I hated the super shaky action scenes. The use of hand-held cameras left me craving Alka Seltzer and Extra Strength Tylenol. I also found John C. McGinley unbelievable as the chief of a major city police department.

    Overall, just so-so.

    Bad actors....

The storyline wasn't all bad, but the actors are pretty terrible. It's hard to see Tyler acting outside of the grandma. It's entertaining, but missing explosive acting.

I was surprised how much I liked it

I enjoyed seeing Tyler Perry in a role outside of his Madea characters & I thought he did well. The action was spot on. Matthew Fox, the villain, was twisted & dark and set the tone for the movie.

This was a good movie for Tyler Perry to break into without the Madea trademark. I was very pleased with this movie, but didn't understand why the plot took so long to be revealed as to why Matthew Fox character did what he did.

    I would go and see this again . . . .

    Need's Stronger Plot!!

I'm a little disapointed with the plot! The story line was weak and very predictable.I wish Tyler would have gave it a little more zing!!!

This movie was one of the greatest movie and it was so true to life. Yes it was an adventure throughout the entire movie. There was not a dull moment. There were some sad moments and so is life. It was good to see Tyler Perry play a total different role from the Madea role. He is just a very good actor and I think he got his point across playing another role. I hope he continues to make other movies and play other roles. I think this movie is a Must Go!

    Disappointed

    by Tat106

Not the disaster that many claim but quite a disappointment. No character development for any of the actors involved. This film plays more like an action film than a thriller.

Tyler Perry isn't the problem here, it's more with the script and the fact that the Cross character is so brilliant, that he literally solves the initial crime within 2 minutes of entering the crime scene. Fox makes an imposing, if not physical presence but all the actors aren't given anything to work with.

We won't talk about the climax, which was rushed. I'm inclined now to read the book to truly see what was missing from this flick.

    Great movie!!!

Tyler Perry really earned our respect in this movie. He shows that he can actually act in a drama. Matthew Fox was extraordinary!! Will definitely go to another movie of his!

    Tyler portrayed Alex well

It was good to see Tyler Perry in a movie that would give him the opportunity to show his diversity. He portrayed Alex unlike Morgan Freeman, but it was believable and enjoyable.

The movie had great action scenes, although somewhat predictable in most action.

KatrinaBelle789 #AlexCross was a good movie objectively, but as a fan of the books, not good. Alex and Nana Mama were great, but the plot was way off point.
