Fast paced, yet, undrstandable great detective movie. The best I have seen in a long time. Tyler Perry's acting as the strong, intuitive detective, was excellent. Even my husbad, who is 70 years of age enjoyed this movie.

Love Tyler Perry

I am a huge fan of Tyler Perry so I may be a little partial when writing this review. I thought it was a good movie. Would it be one you just absolutely have to see at the theater, no. But I am always willing to support Tyler Perry's productions and I have no regrets going to the theater to see it. He played an action roll and I thought it was well put together.

Bad Writing, Bad Acting, Just Plain Bad

I really wanted to like this movie. Tyler Perry is a great guy and does a lot for the community, but this movie really stinks. Fortunately for Perry, his wasn't the worst acting in the movie. Matthew Fox was horrible. Of course, he could only act as good as his character was written. I've never seen so many "bad guy" cliches all wrapped up in one character. From the moment Fox's character makes his first appearance, to the last, his character was nothing more than a caricature. Ham handed and over played would be compliments for his performance. I'd say it was human filth, but I don't want to speak ill about human filth. Long story short, this is a must not see movie. Save your money and your time. The characters aren't developed, the writing is bad and the actors look like they know it all the way through the movie.

It was nice to see Tyler Perry like this. He WAS Alex Cross. It was kinda funny though because at one point when he was using an elevated voice to get a point across Madea started to come through. He caught it though. It wasn't too long and it seems like they left it at a good point for a second installation. Go see it!

While the critics said "Don't go," I really enjoyed this movie and was totally surprised by Tyler Perry's interpretation of Alex. I was afraid I would keep thinking of Morgan Freeman, (or Madea) but I didn't at all. I wasn't too happy that his partner was white only because in the books he is black. However, it was a good thriller. I hope Tyler does some more Alex Cross movies.
