The movies was good. The only thing was that the camera was a bit shaky making some scenes a bit hard to watch. Tyler was pretty good......

Perfect Balance!

I would highly recommend this movie, it had balance throughout. It touched on love, anger, friendship, loyalty, deceit, there was enough action to keep you hooked and enough emotion to even make you cry. I must say at first I was adamant of how well Tyler Perry's performance would turn out to be since I've followed his work back to his plays. To have seen how great of an actor he has become and the ways he's come along with his career was quite satisfying as a consumer and viewer. I was please and I'd see it again!!

The plot was rushed

While Tyler Perry alright in his role (some of the comedic points seemed forced), the plot and character development was rushed. We never found a plausible reason why this man with a PhD in Psychology was a Detroit detective. We never understood the nature of this "special" unit that he led. We were asked to suspend reality and believability in several instances (Dr. Cross' MMA style fighting ability, etc.). The movie, from the beginning, seemed like it was in a hurry to get to the end. I was glad when it finally did. While I didn't read the book, I am sure that the novel was much better in developing the characters and story line. This is the kind of movie that I would recommend you see when it comes to Netflix or cable.

disjointed and predictable

Acting was fine but the story was lacking on multiple levels...I got the feeling important scenes ended up being edited out, there were too many subplots and not enough character depth. Also was a 1.5 hour long commercial for GM. Save your money, wait for it to come to Netflix or Red Box if you want to see it.

This was an excellent action movie. Both Tyler Perry and Matthew Fox were excellent in their portrayals of their characters. It took some time to discover who the real villian was however he did get his reward in the end. This is not a movie for the kids.

Not worth the time

I thought Tyler Perry would a lousy serious actor, but decided to give him a shot and go see Alex Cross. I was right. He SUCKS in this genre. The plot was transparent after about 10 minutes and the character that Morgan Freeman portrayed brilliantly was ruined by Perry's crummy dramatic acting.

On a bright note, seeing Matthew Fox in his role was a bit chilling. The only bright spot in this film.

Great!! (If you have not read the book yet)

Huge James Patterson (Alex Cross series) fan. I was so excited to see this movie because I had already read the book. The movie, as a movie, was great, but it did not match the book the way I would have liked. If you have no plans to read the book, GO SEE IT!!! It's great!! If you've already read the book, you may be disappointed. Tyler Perry makes an amazing Alex Cross though!!

Great Movie!

My husband and I went to see this movie November 3, 2012. It was an awesome movie which made me flinch and laugh out loud! I recommend this movie to anyone who enjoys high speed action flicks!!

An Exciting Movie

I'm a huge Alex Cross fan and I've read most of the books, but I didn't read this one so I wouldn't have to focus on any missing parts and so I could just enjoy the movie. This is a really great movie too! This movie will keep you on the edge of your seat and the cat and mouse game between Cross and the villain will leave you wanting more.
