WOW! Words I said when the end credits rolled on this film. (Last time I uttered them was after "American Beauty", which won the best picture Oscar.) This movie is so human, so realistic, I felt I was watchiig a documentary. Mickey Rourke IS Randy "the Ram"; he is so believable as a washed-up, former pro-wrestler that I actually cringed during some of the scenes.

Marisa Tomei is, once again, perfection! Playing a character also near the end of her career (single mom, aging stripper) while trying to keep it together.

Randy is attempting to adapt to the sad reality that is his life and trying, without success, to move forward in a positive way. Really heartbreaking! (The wrestling scenes are difficult to watch, but this is NOT an action movie, or really about wrestling at all) GO SEE IT!
