I totally enjoyed the Metropolitan Opera's HD transmission of "Falstaff." The picture quality and sound seem to be getting better and better. The performances of the opera were first rate and except for the silly idea of "updating" the action to the 1950s, there was nothing to criticize and much to applaud. All the singing was excellent and that fantastic Met orchestra outdid themselves, especially since they have Maestro Levine back in the pit. I'd love to tell people to go see it, but this is the last performance in the movie theater, so you'll have to travel to New York to see it live!
